The best part of the movie, and at the same time, the main problem is the script. There is a seemingly constant laughter coming from the quick one-liners and witty character interaction that keeps the audience engaged a little, even with such dark subject matter, the claim that the film, which deals with the eradication of all cultural achievements would be so careless as it is. But the downside scenario is that it looks like the first act eats almost all time. It is as if the film is not a large part of the actual plot to make room for a huge unnecessary exposure. Secondly, the characters in the movie is stale and one-dimensional at best. I encourage anyone who see the movie to wait an hour after finishing the film, and try to remember the words of three letters or their role in the mission was. There is not one moment in the film where she is not only John Goodman or Bill Murray dressed as soldiers during World War II, underdeveloped characters. While all members are very fun to watch, I mean, just watching all these players together talking at a press conference will be as entertaining.The Monuments Men are not even close to the worst movie in 2014 with a long distance shot, even though it's only February, but probably the most disappointing movie of the year as of yet. I do not have the pleasure of saying, but his noble intentions fell just short because of a terrible pace and forgettable characters. I havent read the book, but I think it would be much better designed and makes this a fantastic real life story more justice. |
